Kominek Motion Pictures is a Calgary based production company created by the three Kominek brothers; Alexander, Andrew, and Peter (oldest to youngest). Specializing in the production of dramatic narrative feature films and shorts films, Kominek Motion Pictures has created the independent features: Malvolio (2009), Shutout (2011), and Backwoods (2014), as well as a number of short films and music videos.

Peter Kominek is the youngest of the Kominek brothers, he has always had an affinity for film making and at the age of 18 had already co-written and co-directed his first feature film, Malvolio. Peter has independently produced and directed three feature length movies.

In fall 2013, he was accepted directly into the third year of Red Deer College’s Motion Picture Arts program based on his portfolio and prior experience. He went on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Motion Picture Arts through Red Deer College with the top grades in his class and made it onto the Red Deer College President’s List. Peter was the recipient of the Louise McKinney Scholarship and the Red Deer & District Community Foundation Alberta Summer Games Legacy Fund Scholarship.
Peter believes that the most important part of a movie is its story and his main strengths and interests are Directing, Cinematography and Producing.

Andrew Kominek Biography
Andrew John Kominek is an award winning audio producer and mix engineer from Calgary, AB. He has been producing, mixing, scoring short films and releasing original music since 2006. In 2010 he completed the Audio Engineering Workstudy assistantship at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, AB. Andrew is the owner and operator of Grime Shoppers.

Before graduating from the University of Calgary where he minored in Film Studies, Alexander and his brothers wrote, produced, and directed their first feature – Malvolio. Since then, Alexander has written, shot, and edited many commercial videos and features.
